We started Trailblaze Family 5K with one belief: race morning should be the best morning of the month for the whole family — not a logistical puzzle for parents.
Our story
From one park run to 35 cities
Our first event was 40 families in Central City Park — a hand-drawn course, a borrowed finish arch and a cooler full of orange slices. The kids refused to take off their medals for a week.
Ten seasons later we host 120+ family events a year, but the formula never changed: safe closed courses, honest distances for every age, and a festival waiting at the finish line.

What we believe
Three promises, every race
SAFETY BEFORE SPEED
Closed roads, fenced kids zones, medical cover and background-checked marshals. If it is not safe for a 4-year-old, it does not happen.
EVERY FAMILY COUNTS
Strollers, wheelchairs, grandparents, dogs on leads — 90-minute 5K limits and walk-friendly waves mean nobody is last, ever.
JOY IS THE MEDAL
Cheer zones, finish-line festivals, games and music. Times are recorded — but the memory is the point.
Race morning
What to expect on the day
- 1. EASY CHECK-IN — show your QR code from 5:30 AM, grab bibs and tees, pin up and warm up at the games zone.
- 2. WAVED STARTS — kids dash first, then 5K waves by pace so strollers and sprinters never tangle.
- 3. CHEER EVERY KM — music points, foam hands and volunteers who learn your kids' names.
- 4. FESTIVAL FINISH — medals, fruit, food stalls, games and the podium photo wall.
